Shiree C Monterio

CEO and Founder

bio

Shiree Monterio is setting a new standard for real estate development by putting the local communities first. She believes in transforming and cultivating communities and neighborhoods into more inclusive, sustainable, and progressive places for current and future generations.  Inspired by four generations of entrepreneurs who came before her, Shiree founded 7+M, a boutique real estate development firm at the end of 2017.

Prior to founding 7+M, Shiree was a Project Director at WinnCompanies. She was responsible for managing real estate development projects that preserved and created new affordable housing units. Her specialty was preserving and rehabilitating low-income housing. Over the course of three years, she secured public and private financing of approximately $120 million and managed the substantial rehabilitation and transformation of underserved communities in Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. She played a key role as the community liaison between the owner and developer and the residents, community stakeholders, tenant associations, and non-profit community organizations. Each project she managed ensured both the resident and the neighborhood were left stronger and sustainable. She also led the team that successfully relocated around 500 households—either temporarily or permanently.  Prior to her role at WinnCompanies, Shiree served as consultant at a nationally-recognized affordable housing consulting firm, Quadel Consulting Corporation. She has consulted and provided technical assistance on affordable housing programs (Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Low-Income Public Housing programs) nationwide.  Her consulting and technical assistance focused on risk management, policy/program implementation, performance management and regulatory compliance.

Born in Alexandria, VA, Shiree grew up working in family-owned and operated business. She was raised with an entrepreneurial spirit coming from four generations of entrepreneurs.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there.” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
